Far Cry franchise shooters have always been very popular and associated primarily with exciting single-player storylines, and online modes, although they were in almost all games of the series, were not an important part of them.

However, in the future everything will change dramatically.

Here's What We Know

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot took part in the New Global Sport Conference in Saudi Arabia, where he revealed that in the next Far Cry games the company will pay more attention to online modes, so that players will have an incentive to stay in the shooter longer.

This does not mean that Far Cry will turn into an online or even competitive shooter, but for fans of single-player games this message does not sound encouraging.

Recall that back in 2023, insider Tom Henderson said that in addition to Far Cry 7 in development and Project Maverick - Extraction-shooter, whose events will unfold in Alaska. Probably, it will be the first game of the new Ubisoft concept.

Well, we have to wait for official information about future Far Cry games and hope that Ubisoft will not kill the once popular series.
