One of the big announcements from the Nintendo Direct was the news that the highly anticipated horror game Resident Evil Requiem, which was previously only announced for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, will be released on Nintendo Switch 2.

Here's What We Know

Capcom has unveiled a spectacular trailer with gameplay footage of Requiem on Switch 2, where you can see the moment when Grace Ashcroft collides with the creepy monster previously shown in the preview footage.

However, the developer has one more surprise in store: simultaneously with the release of Resident Evil Requiem - on 27 February 2026 - the Switch 2 will get the native versions of the previous two parts of the series - Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village.

Previously, they were already available on the last model of Nintendo Switch, but to run them using cloud technology, which requires a stable and quite powerful internet, and also suffer from significant input lag, so special versions for Switch 2 provide gamers with a more comfortable passage.

Recall that a few days ago, insider Dusk Golem claimed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will release all Resident Evil games created on the RE Engine, including remakes of the second, third and fourth instalments. So far, there is no official information about them, but it cannot be ruled out that this rumour will be confirmed in the future.
