Google's Pixel brand showed record growth in the premium smartphone market in the first half of 2025 - this was reported by the analytical company Counterpoint Research.

Sales of Pixel devices grew by 105% compared to the same period last year, which allowed Google for the first time to enter the top 5 manufacturers of premium smartphones in terms of global shipments.

Here's What We Know

This significant growth was in no small part influenced by the successful launch of the Pixel 9 series in 2024, which received high praise from experts and customer acceptance.

Entering new markets, including Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia and South America, as well as an aggressive marketing strategy and a focus on pure Android with Google-exclusive features, has undoubtedly also contributed.

Despite Apple's dominance (62 per cent of the market) and Samsung's stable position (20 per cent), it is Google that has become the fastest growing brand in the segment of devices priced at $600 and above. In comparison, Huawei and Xiaomi also showed growth - 24% and 55% respectively - but failed to surpass the Pixel's momentum.

According to analysts, further expansion of Pixel availability in new countries could strengthen the brand's position and accelerate its growth. For now, Google is firmly entrenched in the premium segment, where competition is particularly intense.
