Along with the launch of the iPhone 17 lineup, Apple unveiled a compact charger with up to 60W of dynamic power.
Here's What We Know
Apple has announced a new charger - 40W Dynamic Power Adapter, which is the first in the line-up to support USB PD 3.2 AVS (Adjustable Voltage Supply) protocol. Thanks to this technology, the adapter is capable of delivering up to 60W briefly, providing faster charging for new iPhone models.
Charging features:
- 60W maximum power is available for 18 minutes, after which the adapter returns to a stable 40W;
- the device charges the batteries of three iPhone 17 models up to 50 per cent in just 20 minutes and the iPhone 17 Air in 30 minutes;
- compact form factor with folding plugs makes the adapter convenient for travelling and everyday use.
The 40W Dynamic Power Adapter costs $40, which is almost double the price of similar third-party devices.
Please note: Due to its limited 60W runtime, the device is not suitable for charging laptops, unlike some competitor models.
A charging cable is not included and must be purchased separately.
