Unveiled Blackview XPLORE 2 - unbreakable rugged smartphone with built-in projector and 20000 mAh battery
Last week we already reported Blackview XPLORE 1, an unbreakable smartphone with 48GB RAM and 22,000mAh battery has debuted in the market, which features a huge amount of RAM and a 22,000 mAh battery.
The Chinese manufacturer is ready to offer another device with no less impressive characteristics.
Here's What We Know
The flagship XPLORE 2, an ultra-protected smartphone designed for extreme conditions and industrial applications, is ready for release. This device embodies the idea of a "survivalist smartphone": a massive body, top-of-the-line specs, and enough autonomy to last for days of active use.
Specifications
The XPLORE 2 runs on Android 13 and features a 6.73″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440×3200 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating and the body is IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H compliant to ensure resistance to water, dust, shock and extreme temperatures.
The gadget features a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset (8-core, 4nm, up to 3.35GHz) and 16GB of RAM with the option to add 32GB of virtual memory. The 1TB storage is expandable via TF card up to 2TB.
One of the main advantages of the device was the 20,000 mAh battery, which is one of the highest capacity batteries among modern smartphones. 66W fast charging is supported, as well as PD SoVTE technology that ensures stable and safe recharging even in challenging conditions.
XPLORE 2 has got a decent set of cameras as well:
- front camera: 50 MP
- main camera: 50 MP
- additional camera: 20 MP with night shooting function.
Biometric security is implemented through Face ID and fingerprint scanner.
XPLORE 2 supports all modern communication standards including 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4 and many navigation systems including GPS, Beidou and Galileo. The smartphone has dual SIM slots and a separate memory card slot.
This device is not for everyone - it's heavy, massive and stands apart from the usual "glossy" flagships. But for those who work in harsh environments, travel off-road or want a smartphone that won't let you down - the XPLORE 2 becomes a survival tool.
XPLORE 2 Projector Version
Of particular note is the XPLORE 2 Projector Version, a special modification of the standard XPLORE 2 that features a built-in projector module that turns the smartphone into a full-fledged mobile cinema or presentation tool.
Technical specifications of the inbuilt projector:
- projection up to 120 inches
- brightness: 200 lumens
- automatic keystone correction.
Additional features:
- "Camping" mode with a powerful 400 lumen torch
- ability to use as a portable media player without an external screen.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The XPLORE 2 is available for pre-order now, with sales starting at the end of September.
The Projector Version is priced at around $600.
