An expanded story, more RPG elements and the abandonment of episodes in Abstergo: new details of the Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag remake have been revealed
The longer Ubisoft does not officially announce Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag remake - the more information about it appears in the network.
French portal Jeux Vidéo Magazine shared new details about the updated game.
Here's What We Know
Fans of the original Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag may be surprised by some of Ubisoft's decisions, one of which was the complete removal of all episodes from the game, the events of which take place in the XXI century in the offices of the corporation Abstergo. Recall that the gameplay in these sections was boring and consisted of wandering around the working premises, solving simple puzzles and searching for sticky barcodes. The cancellation of these episodes will definitely benefit the game, especially since instead of them gamers will be offered an expanded main story about Edward Kenway.
It is reported that the developers will add several hours of new content, including the one that did not make it to the final version of the original game, for example, the story of Mary Reid will get a small reveal.
The game is being created on the latest version of the Anvil engine, which was used in the development of Assassin's Creed Shadows, and the gameplay will have more RPG elements, in particular, players will be able to pick up items of equipment that will differ in their characteristics.
Moving between sea and land will be seamless and will not be accompanied by a loading screen, but the size of the open world will remain the same, although there will be more additional activities in some locations.
Jeux Vidéo Magazine has confirmed the assumption that the game will use assets of the failed action game Skull and Bones, apparently, in this way Ubisoft wants to maximise the use of developments, on which was spent a hundred million dollars and many years.
Gamers should not expect a remake of Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil level - it will be only a slightly improved game without drastic changes.
When We Can Expect It
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag Remake is rumoured to be scheduled for release in 2026.
