Garmin has introduced two new smartwatch models - Venu 4 and Instinct Crossover - each with its own unique philosophy: one is elegant and technologically advanced, the other is as secure as possible.

Garmin Venu 4

The Venu 4 is available in two sizes - 41 mm and 45 mm - and comes in a wide range of colours: from delicate Lunar Gold with a silicone or leather strap to the restrained Slate Black. The case is made of metal and features a built-in flashlight, speaker and microphone, allowing you to make calls, reply to messages and use voice commands - even without a connected smartphone.

The watch has advanced health and fitness monitoring functions: it measures heart rate, blood oxygen levels, temperature, conducts an ECG, tracks sleep and the female cycle. Garmin Fitness Coach provides personalised training advice for more than 25 types of activity. Traditionally for Garmin, the watch assesses physical condition depending on the quality of sleep and fatigue.

Particular attention is paid to accessibility - Venu 4 can speak the watch face and has colour presets for people with colour blindness.

The watch can play music without a phone, pay for purchases with Garmin Pay, and supports smart notifications. The battery life is up to 12 days.

Price $549.99 - $600 (depending on the colour and strap), on sale from 22 September.

Instinct Crossover is a hybrid watch that has mechanical hands and a bright display protected by sapphire crystal. The hands have Super-LumiNova coating. The RevoDrive™ technology ensures that the hands remain in position even after strong impacts. This model also has an LED flashlight.

The watch complies with MIL-STD-810 - resistant to temperature extremes and shocks, has a double metal bezel, GPS with SatIQ, as well as modes for sports and tactical operations: it supports activity logging, stealth mode, and is compatible with night vision systems and even a ballistic calculator in the Tactical Edition.

The Instinct Crossover AMOLED can operate for up to 14 days in normal mode and up to 18 days in power saving mode.

Prices: $400 - $749.99. Available in Standard, Solar, Solar-Tactical, AMOLED, and AMOLED-Tactical versions.

Both models are already available on the US Garmin website. The availability in regional stores is not yet known.
