"Golden smartphone" from Trump Mobile - the company of Donald Trump's family - is increasingly looking like a PR campaign and deliberate misleading of buyers.

Recall, the company promised a smartphone that was positioned as "made in the USA" and symbolised "American values". In fact, apparently, as is often the case with Trump, "he was misunderstood".

Here's What We Know

Trump Mobile started selling refurbished iPhone 15, iPhone 14, Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 smartphones. However, despite the promises, none of these phones are made in the US.

Moreover, the devices are being sold at an inflated price:

  • iPhone 15 - $629 ($100 more expensive than Apple's);
  • iPhone 14 - $569 ($40 more expensive);
  • Galaxy S24 and S23 - from $369.

Moreover, the question is not only to unjustifiably inflated prices, but also the lack of confirmation that the smartphones are restored using original parts, and the warranty terms are not specified.

It is indicated that the price includes the first month of subscription ($47.45) to the operator Trump Mobile, but it is not clear what services and to what extent it provides.

Now for the most interesting part, where is the T1 Phone?

The promised branded T1 Phone with gold elements is still not available. It was originally scheduled to launch in September, but the timeline was later pushed back and the "Made in America" claim was withdrawn.

The conclusion is one: if you want a smartphone - buy it from an official shop or a trusted retailer. And Trump's critics now have another solid argument to prove his dubious promises.
