For those who live on the move: Oakley Meta Vanguard smartglasses with Meta AI integration and high autonomy have been unveiled
At the Meta Connect 2025 conference, in addition to the innovative Ray-Ban Display and Ray-Ban Gen 2 smart glasses, Meta, together with the legendary Oakley brand, presented the Oakley Meta Vanguard - smart glasses designed specifically for athletes and active lifestyle enthusiasts.
Here's What We Know
The glasses have a 12 MP camera with a wide viewing angle of 122°, capable of shooting video in resolutions up to 3K. With a system of five noise-cancelling microphones, the Vanguard is ideal for calls, voice control and audio recording even in windy conditions or on the run. The audio system is the most powerful of any Meta model and is 6dB louder than the Oakley HSTN.
One of the key benefits of the model is IP67 water and dust protection, making the glasses a reliable gadget in all weather conditions. The in-built battery provides up to 9 hours of use and the charging case adds another 36 hours of autonomy.
Oakley Meta Vanguard integrates with popular sports platforms - Garmin, Strava, Apple Health and Health Connect - to track activity, receive notifications and manage workouts. It is controlled via the Meta AI voice assistant, as well as a programmable button that can be set to start music, shoot video or other functions.
The design of the goggles is in Oakley's signature style, providing protection from sun, wind and dust. The Three-Point Fit system and interchangeable nosepads ensure comfort even when worn for long periods of time and used in conjunction with a helmet.
Sales of the Oakley Meta Vanguard start on 21 October at $499, with interchangeable lenses starting at $85, including low-light versions.
