Huawei has announced the MatePad 12 X (2025) tablet on the global market. This is the international version of the MatePad Air 12 model, which previously debuted in China. The tablet has a screen with PaperMatte technology for eye protection and a 10,100 mAh battery.

The display of the novelty is of the greatest interest. This is a 12-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 2.8K (2800×1840) and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz (VRR: 30-144 Hz). The panel supports the wide P3 colour gamut and has a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits. An optional version with PaperMatte coating is available, an anti-reflective nano-etching process designed to reduce parasitic glare by 50% and create the effect of paper texture. TÜV Rheinland certification indicates a reduced level of blue light.

MatePad 12 X runs on HarmonyOS 4.3 and has 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Huawei has taken care of efficient cooling: a graphite system combined with a VC steam chamber ensures stable operation under load. The performance of the in-house Kirin T92B processor has increased by 27% compared to previous models.

The main camera of the tablet has a resolution of 13 megapixels and has autofocus. There is also an 8 MP wide-angle camera. The front camera also has an 8-megapixel sensor. The battery capacity is 10,100 mAh, which supports fast charging with a power of 66 W. The sound system consists of six speakers that provide surround sound.

Other features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, a USB-C (USB 3.1 Gen1) port, and compatibility with the Smart Magnetic Keyboard and M-Pencil Pro stylus. The tablet is available in Greenery and White colours and has a suggested retail price of €649.99 (about $763).
