At the stream dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Kojima Productions, the famous developer presented the trailer of the innovative horror game OD, which is being created together with Microsoft and should finally erase the line between games and cinema.

Here's What We Know

The atmospheric video was called "Knock" (Knock) and, as always with Kojima, the events shown in it can be clearly interpreted only after the release of OD and a full understanding of the plot of the game.

The audience was shown how the heroine, played by Sophie Lillis ("It"), lights creepy candles to probably perform some kind of ritual. But during this process she hears a loud bang and a child's crying, after which her face is covered with some stigmata and her head is covered by the hands of some creature.

Not to be overlooked are the photorealistic graphics, made on Unreal Engine 5, for which Kojima's team scanned real-world objects.

New OD details

Hideo Kojima presented the trailer along with Phil Spencer. The Xbox chief said the company is giving the Japanese studio all the tools it needs to "push the boundaries" and called OD a bold, unique and very scary project.

Kojima said that OD is not a whole story, but rather an anthology of individual episodes dedicated to different fears of mankind, and "Knock" - just one of the episodes and it became known that another part is created by director Jordan Peele - the author of psychological horror "Get Out" (Get Out).

When We Can Expect It

OD release date is still unknown. The game is being created for PC and Xbox (probably for the next generation console).
