Media: the Galaxy S26 Ultra flagship will get the latest M14 OLED sensor, which will improve brightness and energy efficiency
A new batch of information about Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra flagship, which is expected to be released in early 2026, has surfaced online.
Authoritative South Korean portal ETNews shared exclusive information about the M14 sensor, which will replace the M13, which is used in the Galaxy S24 and S25.
Here's What We Know
The M14 matrix will significantly increase the peak brightness of the Galaxy S26 Ultra OLED display, improve colour reproduction and maximise energy efficiency, including the introduction of COE (Color On Encapsulation) technology, which replaces the traditional light filter with an embedded layer to increase brightness and reduce power consumption. COE has previously been used in Samsung's foldable smartphones.
In addition, the S26 Ultra may get a new Flex Magic Pixel privacy feature. It will use AI to dynamically control the viewing angles of the screen - so that content is unreadable to outsiders looking at the screen from the side. This appears to be the same option For those with something to hide: the big One UI 8.5 leak reveals a Private Display feature, as well as some interesting UI changes.
Samsung plans to release three models: the S26 Edge, S26 Pro and S26 Ultra and only the Ultra will get the M14 sensor.
