Independent laboratory DxOMark has updated the ranking of smartphones with the best displays and its leader is the flagship Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Here's What We Know

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, introduced in August 2025, scored a record 161 points, beating the nearest competitors - Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Google Pixel 10, which received 160 points each.

DxOMark experts noted that despite the similarities with last year's Pixel 9 Pro XL, the Pixel 10 received a lot of small improvements, which in total gave it the lead.

Why the Pixel 10 Pro XL is recognised as the best:

  • screen: 6.8-inch LTPO OLED with 2992×1334 pixels, 1 to 120Hz resolution and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection;
  • brightness: up to 2200 nits in the sun and only 4 nits in the dark;
  • new 480Hz PWM mode: reduces flicker, making the screen comfortable for your eyes;
  • colour reproduction: rich but natural picture that adapts to the lighting;
  • HDR algorithms: improved content processing at all brightness levels;
  • Sensor: responsive and accurate, especially in gaming;
  • TÜV Eye Comfort certification: proves it's safe for your eyesight.

Surprisingly, Apple didn't even make it into the top 20! The iPhone 15 Pro Max ranked 24th with 151 points, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max ranked 29th with 150 points.

Top 5 displays according to DxOMark (September 2025):
