Geely-owned brand Zeekr has started taking orders for the updated 001 liftback. The 2026 model year model gets a range of up to 810 kilometres on the CLTC cycle and more powerful engines.

Here's What We Know

The Zeekr 001 was originally designed for the Lynk Co brand, but was released under the Zeekr brand in 2021. The liftback is built on the SEA modular architecture. In February 2024, the updated Zeekr 001 entered the Chinese market with increased power and expanded equipment. On 23 September 2025, orders began to be taken for the upgraded version for the 2026 model year.

The updated Zeekr 001 retained the design concept of the previous version of the model. The car gets distinctive daytime running lights, headlights in the front bumper and a sleek silhouette. The dimensions are 4977×1999×1533 mm with a wheelbase of 3005 mm.

The updated Zeekr 001 is equipped with dual-chamber air suspension with 85 mm of adjustment. The ground clearance in the highest possible mode is 206 mm. The brand representatives emphasised that the liftback has become more suitable for off-roading. Zeekr 001 has received the CDC continuous damping control system.

Another advantage of the 2026 model is the G-Pilot H7 driver assistance system with 31 sensors, including lidar. Information is sent to an Nvidia Thor-U chip with a peak computing power of 700 TOPS (trillion operations per second). By comparison, the previous Zeekr 001 featured a G-Pilot H5 system with two Nvidia Orin-X chips with 508 TOPS.

However, the main improvement of the updated Zeekr 001 is the powertrain. The base rear-wheel drive version received a single 370 kW (489 hp) electric motor. Two batteries are available: a 95 kWh LFP and a 103 kWh NMC. The CLTC range is between 710 and 810 kilometres. According to the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the top speed of this model is 280 km/h.

The all-wheel drive version of the Zeekr 001 is powered by two electric motors (310+370 kW) with a combined peak power of 680 kW (912 hp). Zeekr claims an acceleration time of 2.83 seconds from a standing start to 100 km/h. In comparison, the previous version for the Chinese market develops up to 580 kW (777 hp), while the European version only develops 400 kW (536 hp). The same two battery options are available, with a range of 640-762 kilometres on the CLTC cycle. Top speed is 280 km/h.

The updated Zeekr 001 is available for order with an upfront payment of 2,000 yuan ($280 USD). There is no information about the final price yet. The first production cars will arrive at dealers on 4 October, with the official sales launch scheduled for 11 October.

The outgoing Zeekr 001 model is available from 259,000 to 329,000 yuan ($36,400 to $46,240).
