At State of Play, Housemarque studio, known as the author of the high-tech, but not in demand game Returnal (2021), held the first gameplay demo of the roguelike action game Saros.

Here's What We Know

Viewers were shown five minutes of Saros gameplay with developer's comments.

The game is set on the hostile planet Carcosa, and will centre on Arjun Devraj, whose role will be played by Rahul Kohli, the star of The Fall of the House of Usher. The protagonist explores the ruins of an ancient civilisation against the backdrop of an impending eclipse, which plays a key role in Saros' plot.

Housemarque studio develops the mechanics familiar from Returnal, so Saros will also become a dynamic action game with roguelike elements, but now after each death of the hero the surrounding world will change, and Arjun will become stronger.

Gamers will get into different biomes, will fight with formidable inhabitants of the planet, solve riddles and get at their disposal not only earthly, but also alien weapons.

When We Can Expect It

Saros release date has been announced: the game will be released on 20 March 2026 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
