Xiaomi 17 Fold instead of Mix Fold: first information about the new foldable flagship with 200MP camera and improved displays has arrived
While all the public's attention is on the Xiaomi 17 range, the Chinese giant is preparing to release a new generation of foldable smartphones. Previously, they were released under the Mix Fold brand and the last one was with the number "4", but many things indicate that the company will change the branding here too(as it was with the Xiaomi 17).
Here's What We Know
According to Xiaomi Time portal, the new smartphone is being developed under the working name "pecan" and it recently passed certification in China with the model number 26023PN08C. The "PN" index indicates that the device may be branded under Xiaomi's main series, as the MIX series uses the "PX" index. Hence, the new foldable device could be released under the name Xiaomi 17 Fold instead of MIX Fold 6, which makes sense considering the company skipped the MIX Fold 5.
According to insiders, the device may get a 200 MP main camera. Presumably, the Samsung ISOCELL HPX sensor, already familiar from other Xiaomi flagships, will be used.
Among the expected specifications are a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, improved hinge design, thinner body and increased battery capacity. Support for fast charging and possible display upgrades - both internal and external - are also reported.
Xiaomi's new foldable smartphone - likely to be called the Xiaomi 17 Fold - is expected to be officially announced in February 2026.
