Authoritative insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman shared new information about Apple's global plans, which this time pertain not to gadgets or developments, but to personnel matters.

What is known

Apple CEO Tim Cook has not yet announced his desire to leave his position, but Gurman does not rule out that this may happen soon. The journalist knows that the company is preparing for large-scale personnel changes and that the main contender for the position of CEO of the corporation is John Ternus — Apple's Vice President of Hardware Development.

Mark Gurman notes that next month Tim Cook will turn 65 and may transition to another position, for example, to become chairman of the board, as Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison, and Bill Gates did in their time.

John Ternus is currently the most preferred option: he has extensive experience at Apple, significant authority, knowledge of the industry, and is at an excellent age for such a position — he is 50 years old.
