This lizard can surprise: a remarkable 2D Metroidvania GNAW about the adventures of the dinosaur Mack has been announced
Dinosaur games are always fun and cool, and Redstart Interactive has proven this again by presenting the stylish Metroidvania GNAW.
What is known
The game is made in 2D and has a colorful visual style, but what attracts the most is its setting — the events of GNAW take place in the metropolis of New Dino, where dinosaurs of all kinds live peacefully, but sometimes conflicts arise among them.
The developers promise dynamic battles in the style of classic 90s games, but unlike them, GNAW will offer an exciting story “about a society on the brink of disaster.”
The main character of the game will be a small dinosaur Deynonich named Mack Ripley. As a result of a scientific experiment, Mack gained special abilities and now must explore seven huge regions to understand the ongoing events.
Players will receive 16 unique abilities that can be applied against almost a hundred types of enemies, including both weak street lizards and powerful bosses.
The world of GNAW consists of dozens of interconnected locations, each with its atmosphere, dangers, and unique features.
When to expect
The release of GNAW is expected in 2026 on PC (Steam), Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
