Q for Qualcomm — a new board for Arduino UNO automation enthusiasts can run Linux just like Raspberry Pi
Together with the agreement, Qualcomm and Arduino introduced a new board for Arduino UNO automation enthusiasts, the Arduino UNO Q. The board has two processors: Qualcomm Dragonwing QRB2210, capable of running Linux and oriented towards complex calculations (for example, computer vision processing) and a microcontroller for real-time calculations (for controlling movement or other devices). The board is designed for calculations of computer vision tasks, sound processing, and automation in smart homes, industry, and robotics. With the new board, Arduino is set to compete with Raspberry Pi.

The Arduino Uno Q is compatible with Arduino IDE and the new Arduino App Lab tool – a unified development environment that integrates Real-time OS, Linux, Python, and AI workflows (for example, object recognition or obstacle detection). App Lab also supports the Edge Impulse platform to simplify AI model creation. The board is already available for pre-order at the official Arduino store — its price sharply contrasts with all other products from the company and is $44. Likely, more than half of the cost is from the new Qualcomm processor. It will be available for sale on October 24.
