Insiders report that the full-frame mirrorless camera Sony α7V, the successor to α7 IV, will start selling in the first quarter of 2026, likely in January or February. Its announcement is expected to take place as early as November.

What to expect:
The sensor will have a resolution of 33 Mp, but it is unknown whether it will be the same matrix as in α7 IV or a completely new one. A new processor is expected to provide enhanced AI processing capabilities. The camera will have the same design as the α7 rV, including a 4-axis display mount, but the large grip and larger set of controls will remain the prerogative of the α9 line. The new model is expected to cost around $3000.
