In 2024, China installed more industrial robots than the rest of the world combined

According to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), in 2024, China installed 295,000 industrial robots, exceeding the total of all other markets. Currently, the Middle Kingdom has significantly more operational industrial robots than any other country.

In total, 524,000 new industrial robots were installed worldwide (+9% year-over-year). The total number of operational robots reached 4.46 million, which is 9% more than last year. China accounts for nearly half — 2.03 million. Next in the ranking is Japan — 450,000, the USA — 400,000, South Korea — 392,000. China also became the largest producer of new robots, surpassing Japan, with its share increasing from 25% in 2023 to 33% in 2024.
