VW Group increased deliveries of electric vehicles by a third in the third quarter, but China is "stalling"

Volkswagen Group reported 252,100 electric vehicles sold in the third quarter of 2025, which is 33.1% more than last year for the same period. In total, for the nine months from the beginning of the year, the company delivered 717,500 electric cars, which is 41.7% higher than last year's figure.

What is known

Europe once again became the main market with 174,700 electric cars (+60%), while the US showed an impressive +213.5% - from 11,900 to 37,400 vehicles. China, on the contrary, fell by –55.2%, to 25,800 cars. However, the company is not giving up: Audi, together with SAIC, recently launched the new E5 Sportback there, and the subsidiary brand Jetta is preparing several new models for the local market.

In the third quarter, VW Group delivered 2.2 million vehicles in total, 11.5% of which were electric. For the nine months of the year, the share of BEVs is 10.9% (717,500 units out of 6.6 million). During this time, 299,000 plug-in hybrids were shipped.

  • Audi Q6 e-tron — 63,800 units
  • Škoda Elroq — 60,400 units
  • Škoda Enyaq — 58,100 units
  • VW ID.7 — 55,500 units
  • ID. Buzz — 42,900 units
  • Porsche Macan — 36,300 units
  • Cupra Born — 32,900 units

Škoda Elroq was especially successful, having started only in January, but already surpassed the senior Enyaq. Also, Audi Q6 e-tron rose from sixth to fourth place in the ranking.

By brands, Volkswagen leads (95,100 vehicles, –7.4%), followed by Audi (+58.6%), Škoda (+113.8%), Cupra (+53.7%), Porsche (+98.2%) and VW Commercial Vehicles (+162.1%).
