Xgimi has introduced the portable 4K projector Z9X. The device combines a compact design, high brightness, laser backlight, and smart features, including AI image correction and support for variable refresh rate.

What is known

The Xgimi Z9X is built on a 0.39" DMD chip with native 4K resolution and 1300 CVIA lumens brightness. The contrast ratio reaches 20,000:1 thanks to the proprietary Qualas32 engine. The projector is equipped with a MediaTek MT9681 processor with G57-MC1 graphics, 3 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of built-in storage. It is capable of outputting images at up to 240 FPS at 1080p, supports VRR, ALLM, and HDR, and features built-in Harman Kardon speakers.

One of the key features of the Z9X is the hinged design with a gimbal mechanism, which allows the device to tilt up to 150°—for example, for ceiling projection.

The case thickness is only 7.8 cm, and the weight is about 1.5 kg. The device is available in 'mocha' color. The optical zoom with a ratio of 0.98–1.3:1 allows for a 100″ image from a distance of 2.17 meters.

The projector supports Wi-Fi 6 and is controlled via the updated Xgimi UI 6.0.

Sales in China are scheduled to start on October 15. The price of the Xgimi Z9X is $580 (converted from yuan).

Global sales will start a little later, with the device expected to be launched under the name Elfin Flip.
