Media: Apple is preparing two new Pro Display XDR models
Apple is working on the second generation of the Pro Display XDR professional monitor — this became known from the analysis of macOS Tahoe 26.1 beta 3 code.
What is known
9to5Mac published the first information about the ambitious novelty from the American corporation
The code mentions two new devices — Pro Display XDR Camera and Pro Display XDR Desk View Camera. The name of the second suggests that this model will feature a built-in webcam, which will most likely support Center Stage and Desk View modes.
Center Stage allows the camera to keep the user centered in the frame even if constantly moving, while Desk View allows showing both your desktop and your own image to the interlocutor without adjusting the camera angle or using additional software.
This solution will allow users not to spend money on a separate camera for one of the most expensive monitors on the market — let us remind you, the current version of the Pro Display XDR (2019) in the minimal configuration costs $4999.
Let us remind you, this week Bloomberg: this week Apple will present iPad Pro, Vision Pro, and MacBook Pro with M5 chip and there is a possibility that updated monitors might be among them.
