Not greed, but environmental care: the new MacBook Pro M5 in Europe is sold without a charger
The flagship gadget from Apple is once again being sold without a charger, but this time it's due to European regulations and legislation, not the company's desire to save money at any cost.
What is known
Yesterday, Apple introduced and opened pre-orders for the 14″ MacBook Pro with M5 chip and on the European pages of the company's official website it is stated that the novelty is sold without a power adapter. Only a USB-C — MagSafe 3 cable is included.
Meanwhile, in the United States, buyers will receive a 70 W Apple USB-C charger along with the laptop.
In such situations, users usually accuse Apple of greed, but in this case, the company justifies its decision by the EU policy aimed at reducing electronic waste.
If needed, European users can purchase a power adapter separately, for example, in Germany it costs €65, and in the UK — £59.
