Sales of Silent Hill 2 Remake reached 2.5 million copies — that's a quarter of the franchise's total circulation

Publisher Konami has revealed the current sales figures for the critically acclaimed remake of Silent Hill 2.

What is known

In a special news video dedicated to the recent release of Silent Hill f, the Japanese company announced that over the year gamers have purchased 2.5 million copies of the updated 2001 horror, which was masterfully restored by the Polish studio Bloober Team. Meanwhile, the total sales of all games in the series reached 10 million copies.

It is important to understand that Silent Hill cannot be called games for a wide audience, and they were released at a time when multimillion-dollar sales were not in question. The success of Silent Hill 2 Remake confirms that the modern audience is interested in serious psychological horror games that tackle complex and ambiguous themes.
