Mercedes-Benz turned Maybach into a recording studio
Mercedes-Benz introduced a Maybach concept that turns the back seat into a professional recording studio. The system, developed in collaboration with Dolby and Universal, allows you to create music and mix tracks right in the car.
What is known
The "Crafted in a Mercedes" concept was created jointly with Dolby Laboratories and Universal Music Group. The presentation took place in Los Angeles, where it was demonstrated by producers FINNEAS and Aron Forbes. They used the Dolby Atmos system in the Maybach to mix music in real time.
This project is a continuation of Mercedes' partnership with Dolby and Universal, which began with the "Approved in a Mercedes-Benz" program. It ensures that songs mixed in Dolby Atmos sound inside Mercedes cars exactly as intended.
"Crafted in a Mercedes" goes further by turning the car itself into part of the music creation process. The acoustics of the Maybach interior are tuned to ensure studio sound balance, and Dolby Atmos processing creates a three-dimensional spatial sound field.
Mercedes engineers even adapted the microphone architecture and input system so that laptops and portable interfaces can be connected directly to the Maybach's on-board network.
