Chery presented a solid-state battery with a density of 600 Wh/kg
The Chinese company Chery Automobile has introduced its first independently developed solid-state battery module. The presentation took place on October 18 in Wuhan during the "Chery Global Innovation Conference 2025".
What is known about the battery
The battery prototype has reached an energy density of 600 Wh/kg — one of the highest among Chinese companies. The module was developed by the Chery Solid-State Battery Research Institute.
Chery claims that the cell maintained power delivery without ignition or smoke even after extreme destruction tests, including nail puncture and power drill damage.
Vehicles with this technology are theoretically capable of traveling more than 1,500 km on a single charge, although in real conditions, a range of about 1,300 km is expected. The company confirmed plans for a pilot implementation in 2026 and production expansion in 2027.
