Plot: a young ninja saves Tokyo from a curse
Ninja Gaiden 4 takes place in the near future, in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo ravaged by a mysterious phenomenon known as the Rain of Darkrot, a consequence of the long-lasting curse of the Dark Dragon. The story focuses on the new protagonist, Yakumo, a young ninja who embarks on a dangerous mission to prevent the Dark Dragon from being reborn and restore peace to the ruined city. Throughout his journey, Yakumo faces formidable enemies, uncovers dark conspiracies involving the Divine Dragon Order, and confronts the legacy of his own clan.
Alongside Yakumo's story, series veteran Ryu Hayabusa returns to play an important role in the story. Their paths intertwine, creating tension and rivalry as they fight for a common goal, but with different motives and methods.

The plot is not bad. It has some interesting moments that you want to watch. But I can't say that the story really touched me. It is clearly not designed to be just "in the background", but I did not feel a strong wow effect from it, unlike another element in the game.
Gameplay: a spectacular chopping game that does not get boring
Ninja Gaiden 4 offers incredibly efficient, aggressive and stylish gameplay. The gameplay offers non-stop battles where you need to use all possible combos and your skill to emerge victorious from bloody arenas.
The aggressiveness of the battles is enhanced by the Bloodraven form, a dynamic state that makes Yakumo's attacks more brutal and visually stunning. And performing powerful Bloodbath Kills to instantly destroy enemies is not only a lot of fun, but also adds a stylish touch to every fight. Animations further emphasise the brutal elegance of combat, making every punch stylish and visually striking, while smooth transitions between attacks keep the pace fast throughout.
The game also offers several types of weapons so you definitely won't get bored. Illustration: Xbox Game Studios
In addition to attacks, battles also require mastery of defensive moves, such as dodging and parrying. This combination will not allow you to mindlessly spam attacks, but rather to throw an intense challenge that you do not want to leave, but to continue and continue again.
In addition, Ninja Gaiden 4 integrates parkour elements for even more dynamics. For example, we have a hook to grab onto various ledges, wall running, rail sliding, and a glider to move even faster between locations.

For me, the gameplay of Ninja Gaiden 4 left an exceptionally positive impression. The dynamics and litres of blood shed by our weapons made me want to take a break from the game. I wanted to continue on to face a new pack of enemies and try even more combinations on them for a spectacular victory. So if you are looking for an action-packed game, I can definitely recommend Ninja Gaiden 4.
The technical state of cyber Tokyo
Ninja Gaiden 4 is doing well with optimisation. On the PlayStation 5 Pro, the game almost always maintains 60 fps. Micro-drops were only noticeable at times in open locations and in boss battles. Otherwise, I didn't encounter a single bug during the entire playthrough and the game never crashed.
Modern graphics meet ancient legends in style
Ninja Gaiden 4 boasts beautiful graphics that combine modern design with the dark and harsh aesthetics characteristic of the series. The game locations are extremely detailed: from the neon, rain-drenched streets of post-apocalyptic Tokyo to the wooded area filled with menacing enemies.
I would also like to praise the visual style, which combines cyberpunk elements with traditional Japanese motifs, creating an interesting world that seems both futuristic and steeped in ancient legends.
And the blood effects are a whole separate story that can fill your entire screen.
All in all, Ninja Gaiden 4's graphics create a combination of beauty and menace that is perfect for the dynamic ninja action and intense events taking place on the screen.
I like it when authors intertwine futurism with something ancient in their games, so there was a lot to see here
Audio accompaniment with rock and Japanese traditions
The soundtrack and audio design of Ninja Gaiden 4 perfectly complements the intense and dark atmosphere of the game. The music combines energetic rock with traditional Japanese instruments such as the shakuhachi to create a dynamic combination that enhances each battle. All of this adds to the emotion and excitement, making the audio experience as aggressive and stylish as the gameplay itself.
How we will remember Ninja Gaiden 4
Ninja Gaiden 4 will be remembered as a stylish action game that knows how to keep the player close. The battles are aggressive and spectacular, combining fast combos, which brings pleasure from each fight and is the best element. The game constantly tests your skills, and once you master them, the events on the screen turn into a spectacular dance with death, allowing you to enjoy the true essence of a ninja.
