Medieval Combat Simulator Half Sword Becomes Main Hit of October Steam Next Fest
The autumn Steam Next Fest has ended, allowing gamers to try out demos of hundreds of games. Often, this event reveals potential gems that will become real hits in the future, and this time was no exception.
What is known
Valve has published a list of the most popular demos from the Steam Next Fest.
From October 13 to 20, gamers paid the most attention to the stylish game Half Sword, which is a realistic simulator of battles with swords, pikes, halberds, and other types of medieval weapons. The game looks somewhat cheap and primitive but has a complex and comprehensive combat system and offers a unique experience.
The second place went to the turn-based strategy Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. Fans highly appreciated its demo, but since this game is from a Russian developer - we ask our readers to ignore it.
In third place is the cooperative horror YAPYAP by Polish indie developer Bartosz Błaszczyk.
The horror trial version Reanimal from the creators of Little Nightmares attracted a lot of public attention - more than a million people added it to their wish list, essentially confirming their desire to buy the game.
