Casio presents the smallest watch in G-Shock history — the Nano DWN-5600 ring model
Casio announced the unusual gadget Nano DWN-5600 — ultra-compact digital watches in a ring form factor. The novelty became the smallest model in the history of the G-Shock lineup, while retaining the brand's key characteristics: shock resistance, water resistance up to 200 meters, and the functionality of real watches.
What's known
G-Shock Nano DWN-5600 is not only a design experiment but also a step towards a new format of wearable electronics from Casio.
The mini-watches are made of high-density components and retain strength and functionality in a ring-sized case.
Nano DWN-5600 features a digital IPS display with support for two time zones, a stopwatch, a calendar, and a flashing indicator. Their size is only about one-tenth of classic DW-5600, with a weight of 6 grams.
Control is carried out using three side buttons to switch modes and activate the LED backlight.
The battery is replaceable, designed for about 2 years of operation.
The watches come in black and two bright case colors — red and yellow:
The novelty is priced at $100. The G-Shock Nano DWN-5600 will be on sale in Japan in November, and will be released internationally thereafter.
