Media: Intel will increase prices for Raptor Lake processors by 10% — PC manufacturers have already received notifications about the upcoming price increase
According to information published by Wccftech, Intel has informed partners of the planned 10% price increase for Raptor Lake processors (13th and 14th generation Core). The changes will affect both OEM manufacturers and distributors, which will likely lead to higher retail prices for PCs and components.
What is known
A price increase is expected as early as the 4th quarter of 2025.
Intel does not officially disclose the reasons for the price increase, but sources point to rising production costs and reduced margins amid competition with AMD.
Intel's OEM partners, including Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, Gigabyte, MSI, ASRock, have already received notifications, and the cost of new laptops and desktops, as well as components for them, will increase soon.
Previously, Intel has already raised prices on Xeon server processors as well as some consumer models. In the wake of the release of AMD Ryzen 8000 and the upcoming Arrow Lake, the price increase may be an attempt to offset expenses before launching new architectures.
For the buyer, this means that the prices for builds with Intel Core i5/i7/i9 13th and 14th generations may rise, especially in the gaming and workstation computer segments.
