Introducing Mobile BOY — a hybrid MagSafe battery for iPhone and a retro gaming console in the style of Nintendo Game Boy
The process of charging your iPhone will no longer be boring: Oscar Japan has announced a unique hybrid device.
What is known
On the Japanese crowdfunding platform Campfire, Mobile BOY is presented — a MagSafe battery for iPhone, which is also a retro gaming console.
The design of the device almost completely replicates the iconic Nintendo Game Boy and has characteristic buttons and a D-pad.
The display diagonal is 3.5", and the resolution is 640×480 pixels. The device comes pre-installed with 300 retro games that do not require an internet connection.
As an external battery, it has modest characteristics — its capacity is only 5000 mAh, but this is enough to keep the smartphone operational. The wired charging power is 20 W (USB-C), and the wireless is 15 W.
Mobile BOY sales will start in December at a price of $60 (converted from yen).
The novelty is compatible with iPhone 12 and all subsequent models.
The "charging console" will be available in black, pink, and silver colors.
