Rivian released software update version 2025.38 for its electric vehicles. It opens the 'Spooky Swamp' mode for the R1T pickup and the R1S SUV.

What is Known

The new mode features four settings: 'Swamp Gas', 'Player Piano', 'Bayou Blast', and 'Scary Spirit'. They differ in outdoor lighting animation and sound accompaniment. Swamp Gas produces an alligator growl, Player Piano — spooky shrieks, Bayou Blast — explosions, and Scary Spirit appears with watchful eyes.

Along with this, swamp-themed images are displayed on the multimedia system screens with four background compositions: 'Bayou Blues', 'Cajun Crawl', 'Swampy Ambience', and 'Ghostly Gloom'. When the Halloween mode is activated, the cabin lights flicker like in a horror movie. The interior is also filled with sound effects such as frog croaking, skeleton laughter, and thunderous rumbles.

Rivian Gen 2 electric vehicles are equipped with all four exterior lighting options thanks to full-color LED panels. Gen 1 models, in turn, support one external light effect and three types of "scary sounds" inside the cabin.

To activate the Spooky Swamp mode, simply update to the latest software version and click the corresponding banner in the smartphone app.
