Dancing robot priced like an iPhone makes a splash: Huge interest in humanoid Noetix Bumi recorded in China
Last week, Chinese startup Noetix Robotics introduced the humanoid robot Bumi, priced at only $1370 (converted from yuan), cheaper than most top smartphones, including the iPhone.
Several days have passed since the start of pre-order acceptance on the JD. com platform, and developers confirmed that Bumi is garnering significant interest.
What is known
Noetix Robotics reported receiving 523 purchase requests for Bumi over four days.
Such interest is undoubtedly due to the unusually low price for a rather large android — standing at 94 cm tall and weighing 12 kg. The robot can walk stably, perform dance moves, and respond to commands, as demonstrated in a video by the developers.
In addition to amusing dances, the Bumi robot is designed for AI model training — its open programming interface allows students and enthusiasts to write their scripts and educational programs.
