Last year, Sony released the long-awaited PC version of the samurai action game Ghost of Tsushima, but disappointed gamers by requiring a PlayStation Network tie-in to purchase the game, which is not available in more than two hundred countries and regions.

This requirement applied to many PlayStation games, and the company later dropped it, but it has only now been lifted from Ghost of Tsushima.

What is known

A major patch was released for the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, introducing important changes. First of all, the game was divided into two components, and now the single-player story campaign is available without a PSN account and is sold in all regions, while the Legends online mode is now a free add-on and cannot be launched without a Sony service account.

Also, Nixxes, the studio that handled porting Ghost of Tsushima to PC, fully adapted the game for the portable Steam Deck console, improving the interface and boosting its performance.
