At the Adobe Max 2025 conference, Adobe announced a new AI assistant for Photoshop that automates routine tasks and provides personalised recommendations. It's available in Photoshop and Express, Adobe's all-in-one design, photo, and video app, and allows you to talk to the program in a natural conversation format.

What you need to know.

Users can request tasks, such as colour correction or resizing, and receive tutorials.

Photoshop has received new tools based on artificial intelligence. For example, Generative Upscale improves image quality up to 4K, and Harmonize helps place an object on a new background so that it looks natural.

The AI Object Mask feature has been added to the Premiere Pro video editor - it detects and highlights people or objects in the video, so you don't have to do it manually. New types of masks have also been added for precise editing.

Lightroom has received Assisted Culling, which quickly selects the best photos in a series by analysing clarity, angle, and focus.

Most of the new features are already available to users. The AI assistant in Photoshop is currently in beta - you can join the waiting list.
