AirPods Pro 3 users complain of ear pain and bleeding
More and more owners of AirPods Pro 3 headphones are reporting pain, cuts, and even ear bleeding after regular use.
What is known
The problem is attributed to the new heart rate sensor located inside the earphone. Users say it presses on the same spot in the ear – near the small cartilage at the entrance to the ear canal.
There are already dozens of similar stories on Reddit. People write that after wearing them for a few hours, their ears start to hurt, and later scratches and even blood appear. One user, under the nickname lyao1235, showed a photo with their left ear that started bleeding after a flight. Others report identical wounds on both ears.
Buyers who complained in Apple Store about ear pain or uneven seams on the case were told by staff that no manufacturing defects were found, so returns were not possible due to hygiene rules.
Reddit user Miry404 said that even after demonstrating the problem and checking all sizes of ear tips, they were denied a return. According to him, the staff assured him that the headphones were "fine" and suggested trying different tips.
Other owners shared similar experiences: exchanges or returns were not conducted if there were no noticeable physical defects. However, some managed to get a replacement through online support, although such cases were rare.
