YouTube is once again tightening the rules for publishing gaming-themed videos. The platform has long frowned upon nudity and excessive violence in videos, but the new rules will require bloggers and streamers to censor their content even more carefully.

What is known

Starting November 17, 2025, YouTube will enforce stricter moderation of violent content. Algorithms will evaluate the duration of violent scenes in relation to the overall length of the video, as well as the detail and realism of the depicted violence.

This applies only to videos that are not marked “adults only”.

Additionally, restrictions will be imposed on content that YouTube calls a “social casino”. Authors have long been prohibited from promoting online gambling platforms, but now it is not allowed to showcase any type of entertainment not certified by Google, and advertising digital goods with monetary value, such as in-game skins and NFT sets, is also banned.

Please note that the new rules also apply to already published materials, so YouTube recommends self-censoring your videos in accordance with the new standards.
