Konami released an update for Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, with the main innovation being the multiplayer mode Fox Hunt.

What's known

Fox Hunt is available for free to everyone who has purchased the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series, but without crossplay support.

In the Fox Hunt mode, up to 12 players can participate, acting as spies against each other, using all the main mechanics from the single-player Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater.

The main feature of Fox Hunt is the disguise, which changes automatically depending on the surface the player is near. Previously, developers showed how a character gets covered in thick grass, mimics a brick wall, hides in dirt, and blends with rocks—all of this helps to hide from opponents.

The Fox Hunt mode encourages stealth, attentiveness, and careful planning of actions, and to win, players use disguises and traps instead of traditional shootouts.

The developers based it on the old Metal Gear Online mode and refreshed it with new mechanics, also shifting the focus from shootouts to "hide and seek."

All the features of Fox Hunt are shown in a special release trailer:
