DJI unveiled a new compact selfie drone Neo 2
The company DJI has announced the release of the Neo 2, a new generation of its compact selfie drone. The model has received a number of technical improvements, including an improved obstacle avoidance system and an updated camera.
What is known
The main addition is a LiDAR system for obstacle avoidance with infrared sensors that scan the surface under the drone. Thanks to this, the Neo 2 orients itself more accurately during flight. As in the previous model, the propellers are covered with protective casings.
The Neo 2 supports gesture control, allowing you to change the drone's position with hand movements. It is also compatible with RC-N3 controllers and motion controllers. The maximum speed has been increased to 27 mph (approximately 43 km/h). The drone can steadily hover in the air in winds up to 24 mph (39 km/h).
A 1606 mAh battery provides up to 19 minutes of flight. The camera is equipped with a two-axis stabilizer, has an extended viewing angle, and shoots in 4K format with up to 60 frames per second, or up to 100 frames per second in manual mode. The built-in memory has been increased to 49 GB (the predecessor had 22 GB).
The drone's weight is 151 grams, which is a few grams more compared to the previous model. The Neo 2 is currently only available in the Chinese market for a price of 1,499 yuan (about $211).
