Not shorter, but more dynamic: the final part of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy will retain the Rebirth duration
Square Enix is actively working on the concluding part of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy. The second part of this mini-series with the subtitle Rebirth was released in 2024, and thanks to its expansive open world, it proved to be much more extensive than the first game. Not all gamers liked this, but it seems that Japanese developers will not deviate from this concept.
What is known
Game director Naoki Hamaguchi reported that the final part of Final Fantasy VII Remake will be comparable in scale to Rebirth.
It is being developed as a large and complex RPG, requiring about 50 hours to complete just the main storyline, and gamers will have to spend more than 100 hours to complete all activities.
However, criticism of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was taken into account, and in the third part, the developers will accelerate the pace of the narrative to make the story more dynamic and engaging.
… we are paying special attention to the pace of the story's development. We are not going to cut anything, but we strive to ensure that the story moves forward at the best possible pace, with events following events and creating the feeling that the game is not standing still. At the same time, everything should feel very organic.
The release of the final part of the Final Fantasy VII remake is expected in 2027, and the game is likely to be released simultaneously on all platforms.
