The trend of lowering the cost of Chinese robots is gaining momentum. We have already talked about Dancing robot priced like an iPhone makes a splash: Huge interest in humanoid Noetix Bumi recorded in China, whose price is only $1370 (converted from yuan), which is cheaper than most flagship smartphones, including the iPhone.

Now another Chinese company has introduced the Rover X1 — a competitor to the famous robot dog from Boston Dynamics.

What is known

The cost of the "world's first intelligent home robot dog" from Yuejiang Robotics is only about $1000, demonstrating the rapidly increasing availability of high technology.

The developer positions Rover X1 as a human companion that not only serves as a pet but will also be useful in performing a range of tasks.

With the help of a camera system, the robot dog can take pictures of the area, which is useful, for example, for patrolling or walking. Importantly, Rover X1 can move both on flat floors and on small slopes outside, and even skillfully jump, while carrying various loads (weight unspecified).

Exact technical specifications of Rover X1 have not been disclosed yet.
