Porsche unveiled a unique Boxster for filming the brand's fastest models
Porsche has revealed details of a special version of the 718 Boxster S, which has been used as a mobile studio since 2017 to create advertising and promotional materials for the brand's fastest cars.
What is known
The special Boxster is a project by nine interns at the Leipzig plant. It has been turned into a car for dynamic photo shoots: the convertible has lost its standard soft top, replaced by a high roll cage, which also serves as a mounting base for special equipment and cameras. The body is covered with matte black paint to avoid unwanted glare.
The technical part of the vehicle has also been modified. Around the body are steel tubular mounts for shooting platforms. The luggage compartments are equipped with soft padding and special straps — all to allow photographers to work at speed. A standing work platform was added between the seats, and an inverter and wiring complex for connecting professional equipment were integrated into the electrical system.
The car is actively used both at the Leipzig plant track and at external filming events. At the same time, the special version of the Boxster always remained "behind the scenes," helping to create impressive materials for Porsche.
