Toyota prepares for the world premiere of the new Hilux: official details and first images
One of the most popular models of midsize pickups, Toyota Hilux, will be presented in a new generation next week. The world premiere will take place on November 10 in Thailand.
What is known
Toyota has released the first teasers revealing the exterior of the Hilux. The front grille features a prominent brand name. The novelty is distinguished by narrower and sharper LED headlights, a sculpted hood, and enlarged air intakes on the bumper. New LED taillights with modern graphics and a new tailgate are visible at the back. The shown configuration is equipped with stylish black double-spoke wheels.
Although the interior is not shown in the teasers, earlier leaks hint at a dashboard display and a more angular design of the front panel. An improvement in the quality of materials and an expansion of upholstery options are also expected.
In terms of technical aspects, the new generation Hilux remains true to proven solutions. A 2.8-liter turbodiesel with mild hybrid technology, delivering 201 hp and 500 Nm of torque, will be used as the power unit, in combination with an automatic transmission and rear or all-wheel drive. The previously popular 2.4-liter diesel and 2.7-liter gasoline engines will become a thing of the past.
Hybrid and fully electric modifications of the Hilux are also expected in the future.
More information on prices, configurations, and other changes will be announced at the premiere on November 10. Production of the Toyota Hilux will remain in Thailand.
