Amazon has officially launched the enhanced version of its voice assistant, Alexa Plus, in the Amazon Music mobile app. Users who registered for the Early Access program can try out the new features after updating on iOS or Android.

What is Known

To activate the assistant, you need to press the "A" button in the bottom right corner. Alexa+ supports voice queries in a conversational style: you can search for songs by artist, lyrics snippet, or even by the name of a TV show in which the track is featured. Query refinement is also supported – for example, by mood, decade, or type of instrument.

The assistant allows you to create playlists with precise criteria (for example, high-energy tracks from the '90s that start with a certain artist) as well as via general queries (for example, music by mood or time of day).

Alexa+ acts as a music consultant: it can provide information about song content, album chart positions, and also answer questions about upcoming artist performances.

After testing is completed, the service will be free for Prime users, while others will have a subscription cost of $20 per month.
