Game Boy Clones Level Up: Ayaneo Unveils Premium Retro Pocket Vert Console with Diamond-Cut Side Buttons
Chinese company Ayaneo continues to amaze with announcements of new gadgets.
Just a few days ago, the brand introduced its first "truly gamer" smartphone and Ayaneo unveiled AM03 – a concept mini-PC in the design of a classic CD player, and now they've unveiled Pocket Vert — another variation of a portable game console in the Game Boy form factor, but executed in a premium style.
What's Known
Ayaneo has not disclosed all the details of Pocket Vert, limiting this to a stylish video and information that the console will feature a 3.5″ display with a high resolution of 1600×1440 (10 times more than the Game Boy), but the processor, battery, and memory capacity are kept secret. As for the operating system, Ayaneo always uses Android, so it's unlikely Pocket Vert will be an exception.
The layout and number of buttons on Pocket Vert fully mimic the Game Boy, so the novelty is likely to be used only to emulate this and a few similar retro systems.
However, the manufacturer proudly stated that Pocket Vert's side buttons are diamond-cut, and the front panel of the console seems to be made of glass.
To emphasize the premium status of the retro console, it is made in a strict and elegant black color and is positioned as "a true work of art."
The price and release date of Ayaneo Pocket Vert are not disclosed.
