“N7 Day”: BioWare Reveals Important Detail About the Mass Effect Series and Confirms the Development of a New Game Continues
It’s November 7, which means it's the traditional “N7 Day” celebration in the Mass Effect fan community.
This time, BioWare hasn’t released any mysterious videos or organized public events, but the studio’s executive producer Michael Gamble published a message to fans that stated two significant points.
What is known
Gamble’s post mentions that the production of the next Mass Effect installment continues, and BioWare is putting tremendous creative effort into not disappointing gamers. This point is crucial because, after the announcement that Electronic Arts is buying back its own shares and transitioning to a private company, many feared that Mass Effect might be among the franchises to be shelved.
The producer also revealed important information about the Mass Effect franchise series. He reported that the Amazon adaptation will not be a retelling of the story about Commander Shepard and his companions, but will offer an independent plot within the familiar universe and, apparently, it will somehow be connected to the new game.
Gamble's post also encodes a mysterious phrase: "url Mass Effect Krogan", which clearly refers to the race of anthropomorphic reptiles known as Krogans, but its significance is still unclear.

Happy N7 Day!
You guessed it… I’m writing to you in this blog again, and every year this is an important moment of reflection for me. I pause and think about how lucky we are to have Mass Effect and how grateful we are to the community for the support we receive. We’ve been through a lot together, and that’s why we appreciate you.
Like you, we’ve heard different rumors lately. You’ve clearly shown you care about the series’ future. So let's start by clarifying — the next Mass Effect installment is in development, and EA and BioWare are still committed to telling new stories in this universe.
Truthfully, the last few years at BioWare have been incredibly busy. But right now, the team is entirely focused on Mass Effect. We’re covering a large part of the universe, creating many features, and addressing romantic plotlines. We are thrilled about what we are creating and promise you that once we’re ready, we will have things to share. Meanwhile, thank you for your patience because I see how eagerly you’re searching for secret messages in each of my tweets.
Besides the new game, there’s more to look forward to. I haven’t spoken much about this, but maybe you’ve already heard about the upcoming series? We’re collaborating closely on this with Amazon, and we’re genuinely excited about what their talented team has come up with.
Scriptwork is in full swing, and we’ve learned a lot about how it fits into the Mass Effect canon and its position relative to the new game. The series will tell a completely new story in the familiar universe and unfold after the events of the original trilogy. It won’t be a retelling of Commander Shepard’s story, because in the end, it’s YOUR story, isn’t it?
Follow our socials to not miss new festive events, including amazing new Mass Effect merchandise, free items as part of crossovers with skate and Apex Legends, and much more.
Happy N7 Day!
P. S. — Disclaimer: I swear that today’s message contains no secret game information.
Sadly, it is still unknown when the new Mass Effect will release, but we know for sure that the series won’t be out before 2028.
