Samsung released One UI 8 based on Android 16 for the American version of Galaxy S21 FE. This major update became final for this smartphone. Users of carrier versions can now download the new firmware.
What is known
Currently, the update is available for carrier versions of the Galaxy S21 FE on the ATT, Cricket Wireless, Metro PCS, and T-Mobile networks. It comes under firmware versions G990USQUJIYJ2 or G990U2SQUHIYJ2, depending on the model. Owners of such devices can already download the new version through the Settings menu, Software Update, Download and Install.
Meanwhile, for unlocked factory versions of the Galaxy S21 FE, the package is still unavailable, but according to preliminary information, its release is a matter of days.
The One UI 8 update adds new and updated features for the Galaxy S21 FE. Among them: an updated version of Secure Folder with enhanced security, a changed Quick Share application, a new code base for Samsung DeX, and an updated Weather design.
Also added are improvements for Bluetooth Auracast, new options for group management of reminders, alarms, and calendar events.
