In a large number of science fiction films, you can see fully transparent displays that display digital images. It was obvious that over time such technology would be implemented and ... welcome: Virtual Instruments announced the Phantom monitor — the world's first transparent display for PCs.

What is known

There are not so many details about the novelty yet, but it is known that the principle of operation of Phantom is similar to HUD displays — the image is displayed on a special transparent surface. The user can look through the image, which, according to the developer, reduces eye strain.

Another feature of the Phantom will be the ability to adjust the transparency of the screen — in normal mode the monitor will not be transparent.

Phantom has a diagonal of 24″ with a 16:9 aspect ratio, supports 4K resolution, peak brightness reaches 5000 nits, and has 100% sRGB color coverage. The device has USB-C and HDMI ports.

The monitor is currently available as a limited Founders Edition of only 10 units, and at the time of the announcement, 7 of them had already been reserved. The cost of Phantom is $1600.
